The XFR is Jaguar’s answer to the barn-storming saloons from Mercedes, BMW and Audi, and if looks and spec (and the experience of driving the non-blown XF) are anything to go by, the new big Cat should get the cream. MOTORING groups have given a cautious welcome to Chancellor George Osborne's announcement of a freeze on fuel duty until May 2015. Both the AA and the RAC pointed out that Mr Osborne was already getting big sums from motorists in taxation. The long, drawn-out saga of the next generation Audi A8 is finally being resolved with the announcement that Audi are going to launch the A8 on the eve of the Design Miami USA event – 30th November. Which does seem a bit of an odd place for a mainstream, high-end car maker to launch its new flagship. Are Audi saying that the new A8 is all about design, rather than performance or luxury or, quite frankly, anything else?
